Who Select Group is

Select Group was founded in Dubai in 2002 and is a privately held developer chaired by Rahail Aslam. It made its name in Dubai Marina, where it built a succession of towers over two decades, and has since extended to Business Bay and to the United Kingdom, with 98 Baker Street completed in London and 52 Avenue Road under development. The group also holds hospitality and investment businesses, but its residential record is what matters to a buyer: a consistent pattern of launching, building and handing over in one of Dubai’s most competitive districts.

Signature projects

In Dubai Marina, Select Group delivered The Residences at Marina Gate, Jumeirah Living Marina Gate, Studio One and 15 Northside. In Business Bay it is building Peninsula, a large waterfront masterplan on the Dubai Canal. Its current flagship is Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina, announced in 2024 with Six Senses, the wellness-led hotel brand: a 122-storey tower of 251 residences that will be the tallest residential building in the world on completion, with half-floor penthouses, Sky Mansions and an extensive wellness programme built into the building.

What buyers should know

Select Group is a mid-sized developer with a long, specific track record rather than a household name. Its Marina towers have been handed over and are occupied, and Jumeirah Living Marina Gate demonstrated that it can deliver a branded, serviced product to an operator’s standard. Build quality is good for its tier and the Six Senses tower is specified well above it. Payment plans are typically construction-linked, with Six Senses on a 40/60 structure, and all sales sit in DLD escrow. The trade-offs are those of any supertall project: a long construction programme, a 2029 handover that depends on the tower’s engineering progressing to plan, and service charges that will reflect the Six Senses wellness facilities. Buyers should also consider that Dubai Marina is a dense, established district; the appeal here is the building and its brand, not seclusion.
